How to use the white goat's milk moulding soap base?

The Melt and Pour soap base is a prefabricated soap base that makes it easy to create personalized soaps.

Here's a guide to using it effectively, including maximum melting temperatures:

Materials required

• Melt and Pour soap base of your choice.

• Soap molds

• Microwave or bain-marie

• Cosmetic thermometer

• Silicone spatula

• Fragrance (optional)

• Natural or artificial colorants (optional)

• Additives (e.g. essential oils, clay, seeds, etc.)

Steps for using Melt and Pour soap base

1. Cut the soap base:

   • Cut the soap base into small cubes for faster, more even melting.

2. Melt the base:

   • Microwave: Place soap cubes in a heat-resistant bowl (preferably glass) and heat at intervals of 10-20 seconds (600W recommended), stirring regularly. Do not overheat the base.

   • In a bain-marie: Place the cubes in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.
     Stir gently until melted.

3. Maximum melting temperature :

   • Recommended temperature: Do not exceed 75-80°C.
     Overheating the soap base may result in moisture loss and bubbling.

   • Caution: Overheating may cause the base to dry out, become opaque or turn into an uneven foam.

4. Adding additives :

   • Once the base has melted and cooled slightly(around 60°C), you can add fragrances, colorants or other additives to personalize your soap.
     Mix gently to avoid bubbles.

5. Pour into the moulds:

   • Pour the mixture into your soap molds.

   • Use a spray bottle of 90° alcohol to eliminate any bubbles that may form on the surface.

6. Allow to harden:

   • Let the soap stand at room temperature or in the fridge for 1-2 hours, until completely hardened.
     Once cooled, unmold your soaps.

7. How to use :

   • Once unmolded, your soap is ready to use immediately, unlike soaps made with cold saponification methods, which require a curing period.

• Never boil the soap base: this could damage it and make the soap less smooth.

• Add ingredients off the heat: Always add essential oils and other ingredients once the base has cooled slightly to prevent them losing their properties due to heat.

• Storage: Keep unused base in airtight packaging to prevent drying out.
